Departments no similar necessity exists. At the Magistracy

for instance there is, except as regards greater rapidity

of increment, practically no difference between the new

scale of salaries and the scale which it has superseded.

With reference to Table 'A',

have to point out that the period in which the maximum

salary of Grade I can be reached and enjoyed for one term

has been corrected from six years, as given in the sixth

paragraph of my Despatch of the 8th. March, to eight years,

as there are three biennial increments of $120 in this

Grade as compared with two similar increments in Grades II

and III.

The addition of the Higher Grade

was reported in the fifth paragraph of my Despatch of the
